Inclusive Waste Containers
2023
Simply Included

Ecology and sustainability stand out as one of the main areas of reflection and action today. This standard is present
in many daily situations, and one of them is the separation of waste in urban containers. It is required to pay attention
to the accessibility conditions of these same urban systems, so that all users can enjoy the duty and the right to separate
and deposit the daily waste.

With this project, urban waste containers for users with visual and consequently motor disabilities were designed and redesigned, based on existing equipment and a clear idea of simplification. In this way, it is sought that this duty, intrinsic to each citizen,
is also done with independence by all.

Visually impaired users can identify the colours by pointing to the slots at the bottom of the recycling bin with the guide cane.
These slots are slightly inclined so that it is the first part that the user comes into contact with, either with the foot or with
a mobility aid.
The blue recycling bin has one slot. The green one has two and the yellow bin has three slots.

The recycling bin is closed by an antibacterial rubber which is opened by the force that the user makes to place the waste inside. The containers are made of dip galvanised steel and oven painted. An antibacterial rubber is attached to the assembly with hexagonal micro screws and a stainless steel plate inside. The fixing is done by means of bushes embedded in the lifting base. Fixed from the bottom of the base.

Thank you :)
